Meet Billy Pang

Billy Pang is a first-generation Canadian originally from Hong Kong. Upon arriving in Canada in 2000, he worked and studied in Markham. In 2018, Billy was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Markham—Unionville, a position he retained in the 2022 election.

Before becoming an MPP, Billy served as a York Region District School Board Trustee from 2014 – 2018, representing parents and students in Wards 2, 3, and 6 in the Markham region.

In 2021, he was appointed as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship & Multiculturalism. In 2024, he was appointed as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education, as part of the Premier’s renewed team to build a better and stronger Ontario.

Beyond his political roles, Billy has been deeply engaged in the Markham community for decades, volunteering for various humanitarian organizations and schools. His commitment to service and dedication to his constituents drive his efforts to bring positive change to Markham-Unionville.
